Leo J. Hurley, 82, of Revere, formerly of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday April 19, 2011 in the Kindred Hospital Brighton surrounded by his family. His wife Doris B. (Latino) Hurley predeceased him. Leo is survived by his children; three sons, Paul Hurley and his wife Pauline of Spencer, Richard Hurley and his wife Carol also of Spencer ,Brian Hurley of Revere,and a daughter, Lori Hurley of Worcester, three grandchildren, Richard, Matthew, and Jennifer, and a sister Madeline Long of Revere, nephews and nieces.He was predeceased by a daughter Anna "Lee" Pilibosian. Leo was born in Winthrop son of the late Frederick and Anna (DeVito) Hurley and lived in Worcester for many years before returning to Revere. Leo served in the United States Marine Corps during WW11. He was a compositer and typesetter for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for many years before he retired. He was a Little League coach for many years. Leo loved being near the ocean, and was a big sports fan. Although his eyesight was failing him, he never failed to miss a sports event that his grandchildren were playing in. He enjoyed being with his family and will be dearly missed. Leo's family would like to thank Dr. Sumera Ahmad, Celeste Oria, Davin Janick, and the all the nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and CNA s on the 2nd floor at the Kindred Hospital in Brighton for their kindness and wonderful care given to Leo during his stay there. According to Leo's wishes no services or calling hours will be held. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
