Florence E. (Valentine) Kowaleski, of Worcester passed away Saturday March 19th 2011 with her family at her side after a period of declining health. Florence's husband William B. Kowaleski, Sr. passed away in 1991. She is survived by her two children, Richard Kowaleski and his wife Judie of Shrewsbury, Kathleen D'Eramo and her husband Dennis of Worcester; her brother, Robert Valentine of Worcester and her sister, R. Genevieve Graboski of Westminister; four grandchildren she adored, Rickie Kowaleski and his wife Jessica, Matthew D'Eramo and his wife Emily, Amy and Lisa D'Eramo; a soon to be great grandchild; nieces, nephews, and extended family. A son, William B. Kowaleski Jr., and a brother Henry Valentine Jr. both pre deceased her. She was born in Millbury, her parents were the late Henry and Rose (Maile) Valentine. She graduated from Commerce High and has lived here all her life. During World War II, Florence did her part working in the Factory for Norton Company. Florence was a member of St Christopher Church and its Women's Guild. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in West Boylston and a former member and Past President of the Greendale Grammar School PTA. Florence's enjoyment in her life centered around her family. She cherished the times she spent with her children and grandchildren. They provided inspiration and life's fulfillment. She was also an avid Red Sox Fan. The funeral will be held Tuesday, March 22nd form the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in St Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston St. Burial will follow next to her husband in St John Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 22nd from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, Holden St Worcester or the Jimmy Fund, care of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168. Florence's family would like to thank the Keepsake Unit, especially Pat, Sue and Mary T. of Beaumont at University commons for the care, compassion and comfort they gave to our mother.
