Paula J. (Dolan) Gentile, 61, of Worcester passed away with her family at her side Friday, March 18th 2011 after a brief battle with lymphoma. Paula was born in Worcester, the only of Robert and Dorothy (Ash) Dolan. She graduated from Burncoat High School and earned her degree in Education from Worcester State College. She has lived here all her life. Paula is survived by her devoted family; Her loving husband of 39 years, John T. Gentile; a daughter Karen-lee Gentile and her husband Mark Topor of Belchertown; a son, Robert J. Gentile and his wife Katie Bigelow of Natick; two cherished grandchildren, Savannah and Leah Gentile; an Aunt Jane Ash of Worcester; nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends and co-workers, including her best friends Donna Scavone and Pauline Camarra. Paula worked as a Postal Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, Leominster Branch for the past 23 years. Paula was a member of St. Christopher Church and the National Association of Federal Employees Union. She enjoyed Bingo, trips to the casinos, and most of all the times she spent with her family, especially her beautiful grandchildren. They were her life's light, joy and inspiration. Paula's funeral will be held Wednesday, March 23rd from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a Mass at 11:00 am in St Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston St. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. A period of Calling hours will be held from 9 am to 10:30 am Wednesday prior to the mass.
