Paul P. Pietrowicz, 63, of Worcester , retired Worcester Superior Court Officer, passed away Wednesday, February 23rd 2011 after being stricken ill. Paul was born in Worcester, October 2nd 1947 the son of the late Stanley J. and Viola (Ouellette) Pietrowicz. He graduated in 1966 from Commerce High, served in the Massachusetts Air National Guard and has lived here all his life. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Irene A. (Palmer) Pietrowicz; his two devoted daughters, Lynn A. Sawiski and her husband Daniel Sawiski, Jr of Plymouth, Susan E. Grant and her husband Stephen of Randolph; three brothers, Robert S. Pietrowicz and his wife Lucina, Richard Pietrowicz, Sr. and his wife Darlene all of Worcester, James J. Pietrowicz and his wife Barbara of Dudley; two sisters, Marie Bercume of Branchport NY and Jane Benoit of Worcester; a brother in law Robert Benoit of Worcester; three adored grandchildren, Ian Preston Grant, Ryan David and Colin James Sawiski; Many nieces, nephews cousins , extended family and numerous friends. Paul worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts more than 37 years as a Court Officer in Worcester Superior Court before retiring. Paul was a member of St Joseph's Church in Auburn and the State County and Municipal employees Association. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman. He loved deep sea and fresh water fishing and hunting. His most precious love was his family and grandchildren. Their company was his inspiration and life's joy. They will miss his infectious humor and dedication to being there for each of them. Paul's funeral will be held Monday, February 28th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:30 am in St Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St Auburn. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Sunday, February 27th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the funeral home.
