Elizabeth C. (Back) (Dubey) Woodcock, 84 of Spencer, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011 in UMASS Medical Center after a brief illness. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 33 years, Charles A. Woodcock; four sons, Craig Dubey of Cherry Valley, Stephen Dubey of Kaui, Hawaii, Glen Dubey and his wife Sandra of Florida and Daniel Dubey and his wife Kimberly of Spencer; a daughter, Sherry Grouf and her husband Paul of Spencer; a sister, Margaret Serra of Florida; four grandchildren, Jaime Day, Matthew Grouf, Corey and Amber Dubey; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by four sisters, Louise Vaitkevicius, Rose Groccia, Juanita Frongillo and Theresa Provost. Elizabeth was born in Hubbardston, a daughter of the late Ernest and Mabel C. (Newell) Back. She later moved to Spencer and lived there for over 50 years. Elizabeth worked as a housekeeper and a sales clerk at Ernie's Newsroom. She later became a homemaker where she developed her passion for breeding German Shepherd Dogs. She loved gardening, birds, raising her dogs, watching TV, family dinners and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Services for Elizabeth will be held Thursday, February 24. 2011 at 11 am in the MERCADANTE FUENRAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 23rd from 5 to 7 pm in the funeral home.
