Albert Mitchell, 87, of Shrewsbury passed away February 15th in his home surrounded by his beloved family. Albert is survived by his wife of 22 years Andrea S. (Scott) Mitchell; his five children, Albert Mitchell, Rachel Ingham and her husband Keith all of Shrewsbury, Jeffrey Mitchell and his wife Darlene of Sterling, JoAnn Shields and her partner Pete Carrabba of Leominster, and Linda Allen of Rochester, NY. ; A sister, Eva Zuspann of Worcester; nine grandchildren whom adored him, Andrea, Kristen, Lindsay, Adrienne, Jennifer, Alyshia, Nicholas, Steven and Tammy; two great grandsons; many nieces, nephews extended family and friends. A son, Nicholas Mitchell, two sisters, Mary R. Covotta and Ellen Patterson and a brother Nicholas Mitchell all pre deceased him. Al was born in Worcester; his parents were Abdow and Rachel (Haddad) Mitchell. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade, joined the U.S. Army during World War II to serve his country and has lived in Shrewsbury more than 22 years. Albert worked for more than 57 years as a self employed insurance adjustor. He owned and operated A & A Adjustors Company. He was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral and its Men's Club. A member and Past President of the Boylston Lions Club, the 100's Club and American Legion. Al was accomplished at Golf, He was a member of Pleasant Valley Country Club and at onetime earned several first place awards during Pro-am golf events. He also loved to Bowl and work in his garden. His funeral will be held Friday, February 18th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Service at 10:00 am in St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Thursday, February 17th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home.
