Mark H. Bengtson, 50, of Oxford, owner of Central New England Exterior Specialists, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011, at home. He is survived by his loving wife, Gina M. (Kanerva) Bengtson, owner of Decorative Solutions and Gina's Cleana's; a son, Nicholas Bengtson of Oxford; two step-daughters, Jessica Andersen of Whitinsville and Jaquelene Andersen of Leicester; a brother, David Bengtson of Rutland; two sisters, Charlene Anderson of Sutton and Cheryl Anderson of Hubbardston; two grandchildren, David and Jacob; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Melanie Roby. Mark was born in Holden son of the late David and Virginia (Larson) Bengtson. He grew up in Holden and attended Wachusett High School. He later moved to Auburn, before settling in Oxford eleven years ago. Mark began his company at an early age and has been operating Central New England Exterior Specialists, for nearly thirty years. He was a member of the NRA and the Mass Beach Buggy Association. Mark found great joy and peace in his life-long love of Nauset Beach. He would go to Nauset with his parents and family regularly and it became a lifestyle; a lifestyle of camaraderie with other families who camped on the beach. Mark enjoyed the beach for his entire life and loved to introduce other family and friends to the beauty that only Nauset has. He spent many vacations camping on the beach with his camper and could be found clamming, fishing or simply enjoying the sunrise each morning and the serenity that of being there to witness the beginning of each new day. His love of the outdoors extended beyond the beach to include the woods and mountains of New England, where he enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 11, at 9 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston.
