Alfred C. "Fred" Bafaro, 82, of Clinton, formerly of Framingham, passed away Friday, February 4th, with his devoted daughter and brother at his side. Alfred was born May 4, 1928 in Worcester; his father was the late Victor Bafaro, Sr. and his mother was the late Rose (Pingetore) Bafaro who passed away December 27th 2010. Alfred is survived by his daughter, Jo-Ann Bafaro of Worcester; two brothers, Rev. Michael P. Bafaro former pastor of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and Victor Bafaro, Jr. of Mesa, AZ; a sister, Genova "Janna" (Bafaro) Dagnese, of Worcester; An Aunt Dolly Reno, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. A son, John "Jack" Bafaro passed away in 1992. Alfred grew up in Worcester and graduated from Worcester Classical High School in 1946; he then joined the US Navy to serve his country until 1948; Upon returning Fred earned his degree in engineering from WPI in 1953 where he was a member of Theta Kappa Phi Fraternity and in 1964, earned his MBA Suma Cum Laude from Harvard University School of business in 1964. He lived thirty years in Framingham before moving to Clinton. Fred worked for various companies as an electrical engineer, including Perini Corporation, in Framingham, on projects such as the Callahan Tunnel, the Boston MBTA, and dams and power plant projects across the country. He also worked for other Construction companies including Kosow Construction in Framingham, Flately Construction in Braintree, Grossman Construction, Robert Lusk, in St. Louis, MO, SJ Virgilio, of Shrewsbury, MA, and Allis Chalmers of Milwaukee, Wisconsin over the years. Fred then owned and operated his own residential Real Estate Developmental Company; Albro Construction since 1983. His company built and developed over 5000 residential units including Ridgefield and Woodland Condominiums in Clinton, the Wedgewood Condominiums in Southborough, the first condos in Framingham, as well as apartments and houses in Mass, Conn, New Hampshire, and St. Louis. Al was a former member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery company of Massachusetts, A former board member of the Hillside School in Marlboro, the YMCA in Worcester, the Marist House, (a former Seminary for the Marist Priests in Framingham) and of the Holy Name Society of St. Bridget's in Framingham. A member of various committees within the Town of Clinton. He had a passion for Deep Sea, bass and shell fishing, cooking, and entertaining. He enjoyed the company of his cousins, his brother, Rev. Michael Bafaro, and his many good friends. His loyalty, generosity, infectious smile, and friendship will be missed by many and all who knew him. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Monday, February 7th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be celebrated Tuesday at 930 am from the funeral home with a Mass at 11:00 am in St John The Evangelist Church, 80 Union St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St John's Cemetery. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate people on the 2nd floor Lakeside ICU and 4th floor East at Umass Lake Ave for the incredible care they gave to Dad in his last week of life and the support they gave to us during this difficult time. You were all a blessing to us.
