Camella A. (Simone) DiVerdi, 86, longtime resident of Shrewsbury passed away Sunday, January 30th after a brief illness. Camella is survived by her beloved husband and partner of over 59 years, Angelo DiVerdi; two devoted daughters, Angela DiVerdi-Payne and her husband William of Richmond, and Sandra Miller of Princeton; a brother, Michael Simone of Shrewsbury; four cherished grandchildren, Ashton, Erik, Julia and Peyton; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A brother Alden Simone pre deceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Carlo and Josephine (DiTerlizzi) Simone. She grew up in Worcester and has lived in Shrewsbury more than 44 years. Camella worked several years for the former G.E. Telecron. She was a member of St Anne's Church, and the Mt Carmel Golden years. She and her husband Angelo loved to dance and were members of the Froshinn Club and Saturday night Dance group. Besides dancing Camella loved bingo, line dancing and cooking. The times she could cook and care for her daughters and grandchildren were the most precious times of her life. Camella's funeral will be held Friday, February 4th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in St Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Burial will follow in Mt View Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Friday February 4th from 9 am to 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd.
