Peter Chrysostom, 51, of Oxford, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 30th 2011 in St. Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill earlier. Peter was born November 15th 1959 in Kalavasos, Cyprus, the son of George and Maria (Panagi) Chrysostom. He came to the United States at the age of ten, graduated from Worcester Vocational High School and has lived here over 45 years. Peter was a machinist for Industrial Polymers Company. He previously was a machinist over 20 years for Worcester Gear Works. He also worked part-time for his family at The Kenmore Diner. Peter is survived by his five devoted sisters, Anna Gilantzis of Auburn, Xenoulla Yantsides, Chryso Stom and Louisa Greco all of Worcester, and Alice Holm of Southbridge; 13 neices and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews, a host of extended family and friends. He was a member of St Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Peter was a simple man who loved life, his family and friends. He cherished the times he could spend with and around them. He will be sorely missed. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, TUESDAY, February 1st from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A funeral service will be held THURSDAY, February 3rd at 12 noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
