Anthony J. "Tony" Coviello, 81 of Boylston, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Anthony was born on June 11, 1929 in Worcester, a son of Pasquale & Clara (Gita) Coviello. He attended Belmont Street Prepatory School and enlisted in the United States Army in 1951 to serve his country during the Korean War. Tony was a skilled carpenter and builder. He worked for several local companies during his career, and retired from Ralph P. Masiello Construction Co., where he was a supervisor for over twenty years. He was very active in the Boylston community. He served on the town planning board for many years, was a Scout Master for Boys Scout of America, delivered "Meals on Wheels" for Elder Services of Worcester County and was a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the town of Boylston. Tony was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Among his greatest joys was being part of his grandchildrens' lives. "Duba" was a permanent fixture on baseball, softball and soccer fields as he watched his grandchildren play and grow. The love he gave his family and friends was unconditional and he will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched. He leaves his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Mary E. (Chiccarelli) Coviello; a son, David A. Coviello and his wife Susan of West Boylston; a daughter, Carolyn A. Coviello of Westborough; a brother, Jerry Coviello of Florida; three adored grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin and Jenna Coviello and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Theresa LaPointe and Anne Mancini. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, January 27th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday morning with a funeral service to follow in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Worcester.
