Lillian E. (Carron) Nemeth, 74, of Worcester passed away peacefully at UMASS Memorial Healthcare University Campus on Friday, January 21st, 2011 after a long illness. She leaves her husband of 28 years, Laszlo Nemeth; three sons, Michael DePatie and his wife Patricia of Paxton, MA, Robert DePatie of Raleigh, NC, and David DePatie of Worcester who was her primary caregiver during the last few years of her illness. She also leaves a granddaughter Elizabeth Rose DePatie of Las Vegas, NV. Her son William "Little Billy" DePatie, Jr. predeceased her in 1978, and awaits her in heaven. Lillian was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Taber) Carron, and lived most of her early life in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, MA. She sang in the choir of the Cherry Valley Methodist Church as a young girl and played snare drum for the Polish National Alliance Drum Corps. A homemaker with four young boys, Lillian was active in Cub Scouts, serving as a Den Mother and coached the Pop Warner cheerleaders while her sons played football. She also served as President of the Leicester PTA. Lillian's passion was fishing; both ice fishing and deep sea fishing. This led to her 10 year career running the kitchen galley on the Northern Star deep sea fishing boat out of Hampton Beach, NH. But her true joy was all time spent with family. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her generosity and kindness of spirit. Calling hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 24th, in the Mercadante Funeral Home and Chapel, 370 Plantation St. A funeral service for Lillian will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25th in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lillian's name to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
