Frank P. Perrone, 88, of Worcester passed away Sunday, January 16th in St Vincent Hospital after a brief illness. Frank was born in Matera, Italy a son of Michael and Grace (Perrone) Perrone. He came to Worcester in 1927, graduated from Worcester Boys Trade H.S. and joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country during World War II. He has lived here ever since. Frank is survived by a brother, Albert A. Perrone of Amesbury, MA and three sisters, Mary A. Dehais and her husband John, Frances M. Perrone and I. Marie Perrone, all of Worcester. He also leaves several neices and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Frank worked as a machinist and tool maker for the Heald Machine, division of Cincinnati Milacron for 40 years until his retirement. Frank was a devote catholic and lifetime member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. A member of the Eastside Post 201, and the Post 3, Italian American War Veterans. He was also a member of the National World War II Memorial Society in Washington DC., the Navy League of the United States, and the Statue of Liberty- Ellis Island Foundation Inc. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and listening to his favorite Jazz music. Frank was very proud of his Italian Heritage and his service to his country. He was patient, generous and had a very quiet, likeable demeanor, and will be dearly missed by his beloved family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21st from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the funeral home prior to the mass.
