Mary D. (Caddell) Horton was born on April 7, 1939 to the late Ezekiel Caddell and Odie Bouyer of Coaling , Alabama. She transitioned from earth to her heavenly home on January 7, 2011. Mary married William Horton on August 6, 1956. This union was blessed with six children. She and her family lived in Detroit, Michigan and in 1988 she relocated to Worcester, Massachusetts. Mary accepted Christ at an early age and she was devoted to her faith throughout her lifetime. She was a long time member of the Greater Puritan Second Baptist from 1970 to 1988. She later began to attend Second Baptist Church in Worcester. Mary Dean was a member of King David Chapter #1 and Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star Jurisdiction of Massachusetts. Mary's life was a beautiful Christian tapestry of love and faithful commitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved to share her faith with family and friends. Her spirit was very beautiful and uplifting to everyone she touched. She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life accomplishments, a son: William Horton Jr. of Detroit, Michigan, four daughters: Odie Horton-Henry and her husband Carl of Detroit, Michigan, Annie Horton of Worcester, Mary Horton of Detroit, Michigan and Sheila Horton of Detroit Michigan, two brothers: David and Arthur Lee Caddell both of Alabama; three sisters: Creamy McKinney of Worcester, Elizabeth Sargent of Worcester and Annie Sam-Clarke of Worcester; an adopted daughter: Angel Horton of Worcester; a like a son, Charles Horton of Worcester and a like a daughter Patricia Boulger of Detroit, Michigan; 49 grandchildren , 47 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Abundance of others she thought of as family and close friends that she came in contact with through her many years of being a foster parent for the Department Social Services. She is predeceased by a daughter: Meta Horton, two brothers: Ezekiel and Eddie Caddell and a sister: Bertha Colman. Funeral services for Sister Mary will be held Tuesday, January 18th at 11:00 a.m. in Second Baptist Church, 14 Hammond Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. The Eastern Stars will be conducting a service from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a period of Visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
