Rafaella J. Lorito, 90 of Shrewsbury passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the University of Massachusetts Hospital. Rafaella is survived by a nephew, Michael M. Hehir and his wife Marianne; a niece, Maureen J. Tebo and her husband Paul F. Tebo, Sr.; a great niece & nephews, Jennifer A. Tebo, Paul F. Tebo, Jr., Nicholas M. Hehir and Ryan T. Hehir all of Shrewsbury. She is predeceased by three brothers, Michael Principe, Nicholas Principe and Matteo Lorito; three sisters, Jeanette Principe, Philomena Principe and Mary Hehir. Ms. Lorito was born and raised in Shrewsbury, a daughter of the late Vincent & Pasqua "Esther" (Bisceglia) Lorito. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and has live there all her life. Rae later entered the United States Army, serving her country as a sergeant in WWII. After the military she worked for over forty years as a Judicator for the Unemployment Office in Boston, Framingham and Worcester. She was a faithful member of St. Mary of the Hills Church in Boylston where she could always be found selling at their flea market. Rae was a fabulous aunt and great aunt. She will be dearly missed. Services for Rae will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10 am in St. Mary of the Hills Church, 620 Cross St., Boylston. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, January 6th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
