Josephine "Sippi" M. (Lapriore) Pizzarella, 92, of 240 Belmont St. Worcester, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010 in Saint Vincent Hospital, surrounded by her family. Her loving husband, Frank A. Pizzarella, pre-deceased her in 1986. Josephine is survived by her six loving sons, Frank Pizzarella, Angelo Pizzarella and his wife Diane, all of Worcester, Michael Pizzarella, Paul Pizzarella and his wife Virginia of Shrewsbury, Joseph Pizzarella and his wife Linda of Pasco, WA, Daniel Pizzarella and his girlfriend Rebecca of Kennewick, WA and her brother, Pasquale "Pat" Lapriore of Worcester. She also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters, Antoinette Simoncini, Madeline Troiano, Angelina, Angelo, Michael, Frank and Robert Lapriore. Josephine was born in Worcester, daughter of Angelo and Antoinette (Lanava) Lapriore and lived here all her life. She was a devoted life-long member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church. She was an enthusiastic Red Sox fan, and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. Calling hours for Josephine will be held on Tuesday, January 4, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will be in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be made to the Restoration Fund at Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church.
