Francis X. Sarb, 77, of Auburn passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in the Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. His beloved wife Yvonne (Dupre) Sarb passed away in 1977. He is survived by two daughters: Darlene F. Shelden and her husband Jim of Apple Valley, California, Karen E. Martucci and her husband Vincent of Oxford; two sisters: Lila Richards of Auburn and Evelyn Mariano of Worcester; three grandchildren he adored: Jonathan, Matthew and Anthony; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Francis was born in Worcester, a son of George and Josephine (Lian) Sarb. A sister, Adele Whitley pre deceased him. He graduated from Worcester Public Schools, served his country as a Korean era U.S. Army veteran and has lived here all his life. Francis worked as a Sales Rep for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company many years before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. The Syrian-Lebanese Club. He was an avid sports fan and loved to play cards. The funeral will be held Tuesday, January 4th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Service at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 9 am to 10 am Tuesday, January 4th in the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton St.
