Francis J. Grimaldi, 58, of Worcester passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2010 surrounded by his family. Francis is survived by children, Lisa Desseta and Jonathan Tower both of Worcester; his brother, Charles J. Grimaldi and his wife Sandra of Worcester; two grandchildren Ethan and Kayla; aunts, uncles and many cousins. Frank was born in Worcester, the son of the late Frank J. & Julia (DeSavage) Grimaldi and has lived in Worcester all his life. He was employed at Ralph's Diner by his good friend, the late Ralph Mobley. He also worked at the Sole Proprietor, the Corner Lunch and other local restaurants. He had also worked for the Line Security Company. Frank was an avid fisherman. He loved to play golf, target shoot and especially enjoyed cooking for his friends. Frank loved his children and grandchildren and cherished the time he had to spend with them. In memory of Francis, the family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to all the devoted caretakers and supportive staff at the St. Francis Home. They also want to give a special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and caretakers at UMASS Memorial Hospital- University Campus 7th floor, who gave Frank the best care for many years. A special thanks to Mick, Steve and Pat for being the best friends that Frank could ever ask for. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 28th from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A prayer service will be held after calling hours at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Homeless Veterans in Worcester, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
