Josephine R. (Nardero) Martucci, 83, of Worcester died peacefully on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at UMASS Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her side after a long illness. Her Husband, John F. Martucci predeceased her in October of 1991. Josephine is survived by her three children: Antoinette Strom of Worcester, Elaine Santimore and her husband Douglas of Worcester with whom she resided and Donnamarie Clancey and her husband Kevin of Sturbridge; a brother, Patrick Nardero of Worcester; two sisters, Florence Collins and Eleanor (Helen) Dunkerton both of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Cherylann Holman, Sharon Strom and her fiancée Anthony Melendez, Dennis and Robert Strom of Worcester, Michelle Ward and her husband Jeffrey of Mansfield Ma., John Santimore of Burlington Ma., Keith and Kevin Clancey II of Sturbridge and Amy Coffey and her husband David of Oxford; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nicholas Holman, Cassandra and Connor Strom, Landen Delacruz, Priscilla Ward and Ayva Coffey and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elvira Zannotti, Nancy Capone, Kathryn Elia, Jennie Abasciano and one brother Carlo Nardero. She was also predeceased by a son-in-law Robert Strom Sr. Josephine was born in Worcester on July 4, 1927, daughter of the late Frank & Madalena (Monfreda) Nardero. Josephine was a warm, selfless person who embraced life to the fullest. She loved going to the casino, attending family functions and spending time with her family who she adored. We will miss her smile and wit more than words can say. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to visit with Josephine's family on Monday, December 27 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held Tuesday, December 28 at 10:30 am at St. Peter Church, 931 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
