Her other siblings, Florence Nasif, Juliette Desimone, Ruth Boffoli, and Arthur Gazal predeceased her. She leaves many nieces and nephews, each one of whom she deeply loved and among them Patricia A. Cronican and Marian J. Nasif, who were like daughters to her. Effie was loved and admired by all who knew her. She had a strong spirit and a zest for life that gave her strength during these last few years of ill health. She was a kind, generous, and compassionate person who valued family and friends above all else. She was a gifted cook and hostess who loved to entertain. A special thanks to Dr. Deborah Hazen, who provided extraordinary care for Effie and support for her family over the years. Many thanks also to the hosts of other physicians, nurses, therapists, EMTs, Shrewsbury Fire Department, and UMass Medical Center and Home Health, for providing excellent care for Effie.
