Cruz Lopez

Cruz Lopez, 69, of Worcester passed away Monday, December 13, at St Vincent Hospital. Cruz was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, a son of Norberto and Serafina (Espinosa) Lopez. He grew up in Puerto Rico, and moved to Worcester in 1969. Cruz is survived by his wife of 47 years Evarista (Ortiz) Lopez; three devoted children, Blanca Lopez of Worcester, Brenda Perez and her husband Pedro of Auburn, Cruz Lopez, Jr. and his wife Vickie of Worcester; a sister, Sonia Serpa in Puerto Rico, five grandchildren, Carissa, Daniel, Peter, Christopher, and Kaleb; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in both the United States and Puerto Rico. Cruz was an avid fisherman who loved the beach and all things related to the ocean. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Friday, December 17th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Saturday, December 18th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in St Joan of Arc Church 570 Lincoln St. Burial will be private.
