Doris I Army

Doris I. (Lavallie) Army, 93 formerly of Worcester and Auburn passed away Wednesday, December 8th 2010 with her devoted son and daughter in law by her side. Doris husband of 58 years, Howard H. Army passed away in 1997. She is survived by her son, Wayne H. Army and his wife Kathleen of Sutton; four cherished grandsons, Brian W. Army and his wife Laurie of Shrewsbury, Bruce W. Army and his wife Jennifer of Epsom NH, Brendan W. Army and his fiancée Jennifer Wright of Yarmouth MA; Four great grandchildren whom she adored and they adored her, Christian, Harrison, Matthew and Hannah Rose; many dear nieces, nephews and extended family. Five brothers, Henry, Frederick, Rudolph, Edward and Robert and three sisters, Gladys, Marion and Claire all pre deceased her. Doris was born in Worcester, one of nine children born to Henry and Mary L. (Goyette) Lavallie. She graduated from Commerce High, met married and raised her children in Worcester, moving to Auburn several years ago and to Millbury recently. Doris was associated with the Town and Country Fashions, formerly Fresh Silks for more than 33 years before retiring. Doris was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. A member and strong supporter of the Blithewood Ave. Neighborhood Improvement Society. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her life. She cherished them and the times she could spend with them. They provided her with inspiration and joy. Doris funeral will be held Wednesday, December 15th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. Burial next to her husband will follow in St John Cemetery. A period of visitation will be held Wednesday December 15th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to the funeral.
