June M. (Brunelle) LaMalva, 76, of Worcester passed away on December 5, 2010 in St. Vincent's Hospital with her loving family by her side. June is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Francis P. LaMalva; two sons, Francis and his wife Laura of Groton and Paul LaMalva of Holden; two daughters, Susan Alicandro and her husband James of Kent, WA and Nancy Kierstead and her husband Alan of Arnold, MD; seven grandchildren, Justin Alicandro and his wife Lisette, Jordan Alicandro and his wife Christina, Chelsea Alicandro, Rachael and Carley LaMalva, Ryan and Elexis Kierstead; one great granddaughter, Carinna Alicandro; seven brothers, Francis, Lawrence, Stephen, Paul, Chester, Elliot and Gary Brunelle; six sisters, Shirley Rawson, Doris Miller, Blossom Laverdure, Janis Morin, Beulah Benoit, and Muriel Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Bray and Joyce Foley. June was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Henry and Muriel (Rafuse) Brunelle. She attended Commerce High School and later graduated from Doherty. She worked for Heald Machine as a Secretary and at the Worcester Public Library as a Librarian. She was an active member of St. George's Church where she served as the parish Secretary before retiring in 1992. June was a member of the Greendale YMCA knitting group and the Silver Sneakers Program, and the prayer shawl group at her church. Some of June's other enjoyments were knitting for family, traveling to the beach, trips to Florida, and cooking for friends and family who were always welcome in her home. She had a very strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and her generosity and thoughtfulness will be dearly missed. June's funeral will be held on Friday, December 10th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in St. George's Church, 40 Brattle St. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 9th from 4-8 PM in the funeral home.
