Robert D. Maguire, 84, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Worcester. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Jane A. (Coomey) Maguire; three daughters, Joan E. Maguire of Worcester, Katherine E. Krikorian of Southbridge and Mary J. Maguire of Rutland; three sons, Patrick J. Maguire and his wife Gail of Dudley, Michael F. Maguire and his wife Betty of Hopedale and Dennis R. Maguire and his wife Carol of Worcester; a sister Eleanor Droogan of Hudson; four grandchildren, Keith and Katelyn Krikorian and Victoria and Matthew Maguire; a great grand-daughter, Kayla Shepard; many nieces and nephews. Robert was born in Hudson, son of the late Patrick C. and Ruth (Bouley) Maguire. He graduated from Hudson High School before serving his nation proudly in the United States Navy. He served during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. He married his loving wife in 1952, and together they settled in Worcester to begin their family. Mr. Maguire worked for the City of Worcester in the Street Department, before he retired in 1985. He had previously been a truck driver with the Teamsters Local 170, driving for several local companies. He was a member of Saint Anne's Church, having previously been a member of Saint Margaret Mary Parish, where he was very active. He was the church BINGO caller for many years. Calling hours for Robert will be held on Wednesday, December 8, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 9, at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, 120 Boston Turnpike (Route 9), Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.
