May E. Stone

May E.(Bridges) Stone, 92, of Worcester died peacefully Thursday December 2, 2010 in the Millbury Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family. Her husband Vaughn E. Stone died in 2006. May is survived by two daughters, Judy Voutas of Westborough, Marcia Lee of Worcester, a sister Ardelle Rice of Worcester, six grand children; Cyndi, Lisa, Deron, Scott, Lauri Ann, Michaela, eight great grandchildren; Matthew, Brianna, Samantha, Madison, Kimberly, Stone, Caden, and Vaughn. Several nephews and nieces. A son Vaughn E. Stone Jr. died in 1973, and a grandson Timothy Voutas died in 1992, also a sister Ruth Wheeler predeceased her. May was born in Athol daughter of the late Fay L. and Bertha (Vaughn) Bridges and has lived in Worcester most of her life. She was a graduate of Becker Junior College. May was a Secretary for many years for the Paul Revere and Liberty Mutual Insurance companies before she retired. She was a long time member of the United Covenant Methodist Church. May was a quiet lady who enjoyed her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May's funeral service will be held Monday December 6, at 11:00AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00AM to 11:00AM on Monday prior to the service. Interment alongside her husband will be in South Cemetery, Berlin. Flowers may be sent or contributions made to a charity of choice.
