Julia A. Poshkus

July 13, 1919 — November 30, 2010

Julia Albina (Tamulevich) Poshkus died peacefully on November 30, 2010 completing her life's journey and joining her beloved husband John in eternal rest. Julia was a loving, spirited woman with a great sense of humor, and was forever young at heart with her "joie de vivre" attitude. She lived life to its fullest one day at a time. Born on July 13, 1919 in Worcester, she was the daughter of Adolph and Anna Tamulevich. She is pre-deceased by her brother Edward (Irene) Tamulevich. She is survived by 2 widowed sisters, Ann (Leo) Thomas of Baldwinsville, NY and Lillian (Edgar) Chuplis of Lincoln, RI. In 1939, she married John Poshkus and raised 3 children with care and affection. She was kind, compassionate, and always ready to cook, bake and sew for her family. She greeted each holiday with enthusiasm and prepared festivals of food. Her husband died in 1978, and, wherever she lived after his passing, she made many friends with whom she shared the joys of life. She leaves 2 sons, Edward (Jeri) Poshkus of Los Gatos, CA, and Gerald (Nancy) Poshkus of Bristol, NY, and a daughter, Christine (D. James) Donohue of Westborough, MA. She was a marvelous "Grandma" to 5 loving grandsons and an attentive "Juju" to 5 great-grandchildren. Her smiles and hugs will be missed by all family members and close friends. Her family wishes to warmly thank all the caring specialists at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing Facility in Worcester for their many kindnesses in the past 2 years. A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. John's Church, Temple Street, Worcester at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 11, 2010. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
