Frederick H. Paige Jr., 79, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, November 25, 2010 in his home. He is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Kay E. (Richardson) Paige; his stepchildren, Daniel Dowd of Auburn and Denise Mahoney of Oxford; a brother, Allen Paige of Worcester and three step grandchildren, Paige, Daniel and Jeremy Mahoney. A sister, Virginia DeFrost predeceased him. Fred was born in Worcester, son of the late Frederick H. & Loda (LeBeau) Paige and has lived in Millbury for most of his life. A graduate of Auburn High School, Fred worked for over 40 years as a manager for retail and commercial property. Previously he was partner for Rudnick & Meagher. Fred in his earlier years, owned and operated his gas station on Lincoln Street. Fred was talented with his hands and was a natural in all kinds of mechanical work. He enjoyed playing cards, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Calling hours will be Monday, November 29th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, November 30th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, North Grafton.
