Frank V. DiPasquale, 92 of Worcester passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 21, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born January 1st 1918 in Worcester one of seven children born to Vincenzo and Pasqua (Terlizzi) DiPasquale and has lived here all his life. Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Mary A. (Marzilli) DiPasquale; his two children, Esther F. Powers and her husband Jack, Ann Marie Mercadante and her husband Richard all of Shrewsbury; seven adored grandchildren, Mary Frances Staples and her husband Jeffrey, Michele Strand, Donna Jean Catino and her husband Christopher, Tara Simard and her husband Christopher, Joseph Mercadante and his wife Mary, Richard Burns, Jr. and Mara Jean Burns; 12 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family. A daughter, Donna Burns passed away in 2000; six brothers and sisters, Louis, Panteleo and Albert DiPasquale, Rachel Pignataro and Carmella DiVerdi also pre deceased him. A brother Gaetano DiPasquale was killed in action during World War II on the Anzio beach head invasion of D-Day. Frank worked as a machinist for more than 46 years for the Heald Machine, division of Cincinnati Milacron before retiring. He was a member of St Anne's Church, a former member of St. Margaret Mary Church and its men's club. Franks passion was gardening; He could routinely be seen during the growing season tending his garden. He also passed his passion on to his grandchildren, teaching them this passion as they grew up. They now each enjoy gardening as their grandfather did. Family was Frank's life. His wife, children and grandchildren were what made him proud. Their enjoyment and company were his inspiration. Franks celebration of life will be held Wednesday, November 24th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 11:00 am in St Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Burial will follow in St John's Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 9 to 10:30 am in the funeral home prior to the mass. Franks family would like to thank his caregivers, Madeleine, Charlene and Lauren, as well as the Umass Memorial Hospice nurse Claire, and Aides Beverly and Tracey for the dedication and comfort they gave to Frank.
