Adolph "Al" R. Kazanovicz, 82, of Worcester passed away Thursday, November 11th, 2010, with his family at his side. Al is survived by his seven children: Jean Bonner and her husband Paul of Beverly, Stephen and Robert Kazanovicz, with whom he lived, John Kazanovicz and his wife Lisa of Reading, Paul Kazanovicz and his wife Wendy of Woolwich ME, Peter Kazanovicz and his wife Michelle of Francestown NH, and Amy Ito and her husband Koichiro of Cleveland TN. He leaves behind seventeen grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and over thirty nieces and nephews who all adored him. He is also survived by his sister Helen Dzenowagis and her husband Joe of Lansing, Michigan, his twin brother Edwin Kazanovicz and his wife Kathleen of El Dorado, AK, and his brother Stanley Kasanovich and his wife Lorraine of Truro, MA. His wife, Theresa (Miles) Kazanovicz passed away in 2004, and his third child, Michael Kazanovicz died in 2002. His brother Frank, and two sisters, Jean Brierly and Sophie Erickson, all predeceased him. Al was born in Auburn, the son of Franek and Anastazja (Pokornicka) Kazanovicz. He graduated from Commerce High, joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Valley Forge, and has lived in Worcester all his life. He installed tile and floor covering for over fifty years, and owned Casey Tile and Floor Covering in West Boylston for a number of years before retiring in 2000. He was a former member of St Stephen's Church. Among Al's many interests and hobbies were golf, gardening, and walking, but he was best known for his devotion to his family. He was well loved as a father and someone who could be trusted, whose home was a place of refuge for his children, extended family, and a countless number of friends. He could always be counted on to lend a hand and provide support to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his many loved ones. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 15th at 11:30 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial with military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, November 14th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
