Rosemary (DiMuro) Zona, 83 of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010 in Holy Trinity Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Rosemary's husband of 53 years, Nicholas G. Zona passed away on February 20, 2002. She is survived by a son Nicholas G. Zona of Auburn; two daughters, Virginia A. Mitchell and her husband Robert of Shrewsbury and Linda M. DiStefano and her husband Daniel of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Michelle Mitchell; Daniel, Jr., David and Joseph DiStefano; Nicholas, Anthony and Ryan Zona; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, Joseph DiMuro. Rosemary was born in Worcester, the daughter of Joseph and Antoinette (Jennette) DiMuro and has lived here all her life. She graduated from Commerce High School. She later worked for the City of Worcester School Department in North High School's Cafeteria for many years before retiring. She was also a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She loved cooking, baking Italian cookies, going to bingo, entertaining her family and friends but most of all spending time gathering with her family. Rosemary's funeral will be on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
