Acisclo Melendez 90, of Natick formerly of Puerto Rico and New York passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Autumn Village Nursing Home, Worcester surrounded by his loving family. Acisclo's wife Ana L. (Torres) predeceases him. He is survived by three sons, Acisclo Melendez, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Bronx, NY, Hector Melendez and his wife Margarita of San Antonio, TX and Joseph Melendez and his wife Josephine of Clifton, NJ; three daughters, Maria Melendez Olivera of San Antonio, TX, Luz Rivera of Lancaster, PA and Lillian Melendez of Natick, MA. Acisclo was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico a son of Crecencio and Santo (Rodriguez) Melendez. He later moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. He also attended Auto Mechanic Vocational School in Puerto Rico. Acisclo entered into the United States Army and worked as an auto mechanic at Fort Buchanan for twenty years. He was a member of the Penticostal Missionary Church in Framingham. He loved to play the four string guitar, dance, sing, eat, read and exercise. Acisclo's funeral will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a service at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA 01475. Calling hours will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Flowers are welcome.
