Helen W. (Dube) Adams, 83, formerly of 74 Gates Lane, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. She was married to Charles E. Adams for 55 years, who died in 2003. Helen leaves a daughter Janet Parent and her husband Michael of Worcester, three sons, David Adams and his wife Carole of Northbridge, Paul Adams and his wife Lynne of Wrentham, and John Adams and his wife Darnell of Jefferson, eight grandchildren, Jessica Jerome, Andrew Parent, James Frongillo, Chanell Beaugard, Jason Frongillo, Gavin, Ross, and Carly Adams, four great grandchildren, Lily, Abigail, Dominic and Gianna, and many nieces and nephews. Helen also leaves a sister Lorraine Grinkis of Sterling and a brother in law, Jerry Adams and his wife Roberta of Millbury. Helen is pre- deceased by her sisters, Alma Boyer, Florence Hebert, Eva St. Denis and Alice Courtney. Helen was born in Worcester and lived here all her life. She was the daughter of Wilfred and Ida (Cormier) Dube. She graduated from St. Peter's High School. In younger years, Helen was an avid roller skater and swimmer, winning many contests and medals in both events. She was an accomplished seamstress, making many of her own clothes as well as clothes for her husband and children. She also was excellent at needlework. She made dozens of beautiful afghans which she gifted to family and friends. She also made countless sweaters, coveted by all who saw them. Helen worked at the Coca Cola Company on Shrewsbury Street, was a school lunch guard at Gates Lane School for many years, and did various clerical jobs at Hanover Insurance. Helen and her husband Chuck traveled extensively in their retirement years. They traveled to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and throughout most of the United States. Please join her family for a memorial service that will be held on Saturday October 23, at 11:30 A.M. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, MA. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetary. Friends are invited to visit with Helen's family at the funeral home before the service from 10 A.M. until the 11:30 service.
