Frank Monfreda

Frank Monfreda, 82 of Worcester passed away Friday, October 15th 2010 after an illness. Frank's wife of 54 years, Elaine V. (Reardon) Monfreda passed away October 13th 2009. He is survived by two brothers, Joseph Monfreda and his wife Anna, George J. Monfreda and his wife Judith, all of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Three brothers, Louis, Albert and Peter Monfreda pre deceased him. Frank was born October 14th 1928 in Worcester. His parents were the late Peter and Congetta (Arcuri) Monfreda. Frank served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and has lived here all his life. Frank worked more than 28 years in the shipping and receiving department of Astra Pharmacuticals before retiring in 1997. He was a member of St John's Church. The funeral will be held Monday, October 18th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a Mass at 11:30 am in St John Church, 40 Temple St. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St John Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, October 17th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the funeral home.
