With great sadness, the family of Marianne (Krieg) Valentine, 83 shares the news of her passing on Thursday, October 7, 2010. Marianne's husband of thirty five years, Henry D. Valentine, Jr. passed away on August 31, 2009. She is survived by a son, Robert G. Champagne and his wife Deena of Pittsfield, PA; a daughter, Roberta Jones and her husband David of Worcester; a sister Ella Klein of Hundsdorf, Bavaria; two granddaughters, Lisa Richard and her husband Dr. Jeff Richard of Greenfield, NH and Krystal Champagne of Buffalo, NY; one great granddaughter, Lahna Richard. She is predeceased by a brother Hans and a sister Resel. Marianne was born in Hundsdorf, a village in Southern Bavaria, a daughter of Johann and Maria (Schauer) Krieg. She later moved to Worcester and has lived here most of her life. Marianne was a homemaker whom enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and taking road trips with her husband. She loved a good book, a sunny day and a clean kitchen. She was a kind, quiet and gentle elegant lady. Marianne's family would like to thank the Gardenia Court Staff of the Life Care Center in Auburn for their outstanding kindness and compassion that was given to her and her family. A private memorial service for Marianne will be held at a later date from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
