Domenica "Minnie" M. (Ciampaglia) Bisceglia, 93, of Worcester, formerly of 50 Shrewsbury Street, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2010 in Autumn Village Long Term Care Center. Her husband, Michael Bisceglia, Sr. predeceased her in 1988. Minnie is survived by her daughter in law, Sharyn Bisceglia of Worcester; two granddaughters, Karyn M. Bisceglia of Worcester and Diane M. Senior and her husband Shane of Auburn; two sisters, Nicolette "Betty" Castellani of Worcester and Margaret Stanzione of Johnston, RI; as well as nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Rosemary Bisceglia and her son, Michael F. Bisceglia, Jr. both predeceased her, as did two sisters, Mary Brown and Natalie Longone. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Orazio and Rose (Troiano) Ciampaglia and has lived here all her life. Minnie worked as an aide and in the kitchen at UMass-Memorial, having previously worked at Brown Shoe. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, its Golden Years Society and Legion of Mary. She enjoyed telling stories about her childhood and "the old days" and her travels, especially Italy. She liked to swim and in her youth, swam across Lake Quinsigamond. She was a kind and loving soul, who found her family to be her whole world. She was a two time breast cancer survivor. Her family would like to thank all of the kind people at Autumn Village for their kindness and devotion to Minnie. A calling hour for Minnie will be held on Saturday morning, October 9, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery.
