Maryann R. Mercando, 69, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Maryann is survived by her sister, Catherine Wilga and her husband Ronald, with whom she lived; two nephews, Steven Wilga of West Richland, WA and Daniel Wilga and his wife Deborah of Philipston; four great nieces, Sydney Rose, Madison Ann, Malory Marie and Gabrielle Danielle. She was predeceased by her brother, Carmine Mercando. Maryann was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Carmine and Mary A. (Renaldo) Mercando. She graduated from Commerce High School and has lived here all her life. She worked as an assembler for Digital Equipment Corporation for many years, before she retired. She attended Our Lady of The Rosary Church. She was a loving person, who dedicated much of her life to her family, including the long time care for her mother. She enjoyed collecting "Miss Piggy" dolls and the New York Yankees. A calling hour will be held on Saturday morning, October 9, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street, Worcester.
