Anna M Genovesi

Anna M. (Martocchio) Genovesi, 84, of Worcester passed away Monday, October 4th 2010 with family at her side. Anna's husband of 47 years, Samuel G. Genovesi passed away in 1994. She is survived by a sister in law and her best friend, Flora Martocchio, and a brother in law, Charles Genovesi both of Worcester; nieces and nephews including, Linda and Mike Casello, Susan Fowler, Carol Cavotta and Joseph Martocchio; grand nephews and nieces. Anna was pre deceased by two brothers, Robert and William Martocchio; She was born in 1926, a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Purcell) Martocchio. Anna attended Commerce High School and has lived here all her life. Anna worked for the former Memorial Hospital many years in the Housekeeping Department before retiring in 1988. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and the Belmont Towers Community Association. Anna loved to travel and especially enjoyed going out to dinner. She was a dedicated sister and aunt to her many family members. She cherished the times she spent with them during special occasions and holiday family gatherings. Anna's funeral will be held Friday, October 8th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial next to her husband will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Holden. A period of visitation will be held Friday, October 8th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the funeral home prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund of Christopher Fund, 10 Mary Scano Dr. or Our Lady of Mt Carmel Renovation Fund, 24 Mulberry St. 01604.
