Ivy (Murphy) Hall, 80, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Saint Vincent Hospital. Ivy is survived by her loving family, two daughters, Sharon Hall of Worcester and Jacqueline Hall-Grimes and her husband Karon of Atlanta; four sons, Carlton Riley and his wife Laurie of Worcester, Eric Edwards of Dallas, Lenworth Hall and his fiancé Linda of Lynn and Derrick Hall and his wife Jennifer of Lynn. A brother, Jeptha Murphy in Jamaica; nine grandchildren, Anna-Lee, Jordan, Shanae, Eric Jr., Brianna, Therin, Leah, Lenworth "Markie" and Kiyana; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six siblings, Leonard, Laudrick "Bim Bim", Titus, Lloyd and George Murphy and Jane Richards. Ivy was born in St. Ann, Jamaica, daughter of James and Adelaide (Jones) Murphy. Mrs. Hall worked as a nursing assistant at Worcester State Hospital for many years, before she retired. She was an active member of John Street Baptist Church, serving as a Missionary, a member of The Usher Board and volunteer in the soup kitchen. Calling hours for Ivy will be held on Friday, October 1, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOM E& CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 2, at 10 a.m. in John Street Baptist Church, 43 John Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
