Gladys A. Murillo (Cruz), 66 of Worcester passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at home with her loving family by her side. Gladys is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, John V. Murillo; two sons Frank Murillo and his wife Martha and John K. Murillo and his wife Ivy all of Clearwater, FL; a daughter, Raquel A. Fry and her husband Timothy of Gallatin, TN; four brothers, Luis Cruz of Worcester, Julio, Otto and Maximo Cruz all of Ecuador; five grandchildren, Crystal, Raquel, Faith, Amelia and Landon; one great granddaughter, Gabriella and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three brothers, Santiago Pincay, Francisco and Nino Cruz; one sister, Isilda Llerena. Gladys was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, a daughter of the late Cesar and Raquel Cruz (Yepez). She graduated from high school in Ecuador. After graduation she moved to America, settling in New York City. She later came to Worcester and has remained here ever since. She was very proud to be a member of the City of Worcester. Gladys worked as a Machine Operator for Produx Company for over 25 years. She was a member of both St. Paul Cathedral and Blessed Sacrament Church. She was an active member of the Ecuadorian Society since 1970. She enjoyed Bingo and playing cards with her friends. Gladys was a phenomenal cook, a wonderful and beautiful wife, mother and friend. She was very devoted to her family and will be greatly missed by all. Gladys' funeral will be held on Friday, September 24th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul Cathedral, 15 Chatham St, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Thursday, September 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
