Michael J. Capone, 95, of Worcester passed away Saturday August 28th 2010 with his cherished family by his side. Michael was born September 26, 1914, a son of Natale and Mollie (Pane) Capone. He graduated from Worcester Public Schools, entered the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific theatre. Upon returning to Worcester Mike worked as Traffic Manager/Truck Driver for Brockway Glass Company Traffic Management School many years before retiring. He has lived in Worcester all his life. Michael's beloved wife Filomena (Azzarone) Capone passed away in 1994. Mike is survived by his cherished family, Michael Capone, his wife Pat and their children, Michael, Tom, Matthew and Chandra of West Boylston, Joseph Capone, his wife Lorrie and his children, Joseph, Jessica, Mark and Laura of Worcester; a great granddaughter Sofia Maria; a sister, Frances Villatico; Many nieces, nephews and friends. Two brothers, Freddie and Joseph Capone predeceased him. Mike was devoted to his Catholic faith and his church; He was an active member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel , St Ann. A Eucharistic minister, alter server for numerous funerals many years, member of the Mt Carmel Golden Years. Mike's interests included Photography and painting. His most precious possessions were his family. He cherished the times he could spend with them and found inspiration in them. He will be sadly missed. Mike's funeral will be celebrated Wednesday, September 1st from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in the church he found so much joy, Our Lady of Mt Carmel, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow next to his wife in St John's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Tuesday, August 31st from 4 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home.
