Steven T. Toney, 29, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly at work on Friday, August 13th 2010. Born on July 24, 1981 in Worcester, Steven is survived by his loving fiancée of 9 years, Stefanie Viner; his parents, Patricia (Dadah) Toney of Cherry Valley and Jack T. Toney of Worcester, two brothers, Thomas A. Toney of Cherry Valley and Craig D. Toney of Worcester, his maternal grandmother, Mary (Ryan) Dadah of Holden, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Steven was predeceased by his brother Jack C. Toney, maternal grandfather Albert T. Dadah, his paternal grandparents Elsie Toney and George Burton. Steven graduated from St. John's High School, class of 1999, where he played varsity lacrosse. He then attended Quinsigamond Community College. He lived in Worcester all his life and was a member of St. Christopher's Church. Steven worked as a Lead Systems Technician for Charter Communications for the past six years. Steven loved his family and friends and they love him. Steven lit up a room with his smile and his sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Steven had a wide range of interests from playing video games to camping with his brothers, friends and faithful dog, Tyson. Throughout his life, Steven enjoyed playing sports. He was a standout goalie for the Worcester Soccer League and most recently the Men's Soccer League. Steven was an avid sports fan, especially for the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics. Steven's funeral will be held Wednesday, August 18th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a Mass at 11:00 am in St Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Tuesday August 17th from 4 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home.
