Loretta (Massad) Hyson, 96, of Canyon Country, California, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in California. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Earl W. Hyson, Jr. Loretta is survived by a son, Earl W. Hyson, III of Warren, NJ; two daughters, Paula Hyson of Germany, Earline Costello with whom she lived; a brother, Robert Massad of Worcester; a sister, Louise Kalil of Millbury; eight grandchildren, Angela, Elizabeth, Fred, Johanna, Suzanne, Emily, Sarah and John; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four of her siblings, Jeanne Naimey, Theresa Helow, Edmond Massad and Emily Rezuke. Loretta was born in Worcester, daughter of Anthony and Adele (Mezhir) Massad, and lived most of her life in Worcester, before moving to live with her daughter in California, six years ago. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and enjoyed knitting and planting in her gardens. Loretta cherished her family and found that her grandchildren and great grandchildren, brought her great joy and love. Loretta's funeral will be held tomorrow, Monday, August 9, at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton Street, Worcester. Calling hours will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the church, immediately before her Funeral Service.
