Labibe (Hadba) Greige, 101 years old, cherished mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother, passed away Sunday, July 25th, 2010 surrounded by loving family. Labibe was born in Kobayat, Lebanon, a daughter of Georges and Nejmeh Hadba. She grew up and lived in Lebanon, where she met and married her husband Youseef Greige. Youseef and Labibe were married for sixty years when Youseef passed away on June, 15th1995. Together they raised six devoted children, four sons, Michel Greige and his wife Antoinette, George Greige and his wife Evelyn, Toni Greige and his wife Yebraksi, Hassib Greige and his wife Nawal, all of Worcester; and two daughters, Sayde Greige of Worcester, Adele Bitar and her husband Mikhail of Shrewsbury. In 1988, Youseef and Labibe moved to Worcester and lived here ever since. They both became members of Our Lady of Mercy Church. Labibe is also survived by a brother Youseef Hadba in Lebanon, twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family. Labibe was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her true passion in life was taking care of her family. She enjoyed family gatherings and cooking for her loved ones. She was the matriarch of the family and she will be terribly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours Tuesday, July 27th from 5 pm to 8 pm at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 370 Plantation street, Worcester. The funeral will be held on Wednesday July 28th 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 72 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Burial will follow next to her husband at the Notre Dame Cemetery.
