Nancy E. (Saksa) Brindisi, 71, of Worcester passed away to join her predeceased husband Peter on their 49th wedding anniversary, July 17th. Nancy's husband Peter Brindisi, Jr. passed away, September 9th of 2009. She is survived by her devoted children, Jane Crevier of East Providence RI, Peter Brindisi, III and his wife Karen of Worcester, Richard P. Brindisi and his wife Nicole of Charlton; a brother, David P. Saksa of Worcester; a sister, Jean LaCava of Fitchburg; nine cherished grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved her dearly. Four brothers, Edward, Robert, Richard and Paul Saksa pre deceased her. Nancy was born in Worcester, a daughter of Amos E. and Hazel C. (Kane) Saksa. She graduated from Commerce High School and has lived in Worcester all her life. Nancy's sense of humor was second to none. It was portrayed in the many cards she would send and receive. Her smile and quick wit would light up any room. Nancy loved caring for other people so much that after many years working for the St. Francis Home, She returned after retirement to volunteer her time with the senior adults at The St. Francis Adult Day Care Center. Nancy was a member of St Stephen's Church. She was often considered the Heart of her family keeping them all together enjoying family gathering and adoring her time spent with her grandchildren. Nancy's funeral will be held Thursday, July 22nd from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:30 am in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial in St. John Cemetery, will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to visit with Nancy's family, Wednesday, July 21st from 5 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home. The family request that flowers be omitted.
