Raymond H. "Ray" Kelley, Jr. 77, of 116 Howe Ave, passed away Friday, June 25th 2010 after a three year battle with lymphoma. Ray was born April 10th 1933, in Worcester, a son of Raymond H. Kelley, Sr. and Helen (Friend) Kelley. He graduated from Commerce High School, and later earned a Bachelor's degree in engineering from Northeastern University. He entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War to serve his country and has lived in Shrewsbury for the past 51 years. Ray is survived by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Camille M. "Candy" (Ferraro) Kelley; his five devoted children, Mark R. Kelley and his wife Stacey of Palm Beach, Florida, Jeanne Kelley-Brown and her husband Jeffery of Oregon City, OR., Paul Kelley and his fiancée Debbie Reid of Millis Ma, David Kelley and his wife Cynthia of Shrewsbury Ma, Thomas Kelley and his fiancée Jennifer of St. Simons Island, Georgia; five cherished grandchildren, Tony, Travis-John, Jennifer, Krista and David Raymond; a brother Paul Kelley of Enfield, CT; and a sister Thomasine Collings of Charlotte, NC; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Raymond worked over 40 years for the Wyman-Gordon Company, Grafton Plant as a Metallurgical engineer before retiring. He was a member of St. Anne's Church, and the Greendale Retired Men's Club. Ray's greatest joy came from spending time with his large family. He also enjoyed summers at Cape Cod and winters in Hollywood Florida with his wife Camille and their close nit group of friends, no matter where they were, every Saturday night was dance night. Ray's funeral will be held Wednesday, June 30th from The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Shrewsbury Burial will follow in Mt View Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Tuesday, June 29th from 5 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
