Frederick J. Legassey

Frederick J. "Fred" Legassey,88, of Worcester died Tuesday June 22, 2010 in the Academy Nursing Home in Andover. His wife Louise (Gemma) Legassey died in 2005. He is survived by a daughter Marsha Legassey of Florida, and a sister Doris Perron of Oxford, nephews, and nieces, He was predeceased by a brother Adelard Legassey. Frederick was born in Grafton son of the late Alfred and Helen (Mallet) Legassey and has lived in Worcester most of his life. He was a graduate of Grafton High School. "Fred" worked as a Formulating Engineer for the Baystate Abrasives Company and as a Stock Broker for Carl P. Sherr Co. before he retired. He enjoyed watching baseball, and in his younger years played semi pro with the Yankee's Farm League. He was a long time member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church. Fred will be missed by his family and friends. A funeral service for Frederick will be held Saturday At 10:15 AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. a calling hour will be held from 9:00AM to 10:15AM prior to the service. Interment will be in St John's Cemetery.
