Beatrice M. "Bea" (Ruggiere) McGahey, 75, of Worcester passed away Tuesday, June 22nd 2010 in the University of Massachusetts Hospital. Beatrice leaves her five devoted children, Eileen Burtt and her husband Edward of Leicester, Deborah A. Gosselin and her husband Stephen of North Grafton, Richard J. McGahey of East Falmouth, Linda J. McGahey of Worcester and Kevin M. McGahey and his wife Lisa of Princeton; her companion and best friend of 40 years, John P. Gracia; a brother, Michael Ruggiere of Spencer; a sister, Rose Cole of Sturbridge; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her former husband Richard McGahey; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Bea was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Anthony and Palma (Laprocina) Ruggiere and has lived here all her life. Beatrice worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, DSS department more than 35 years before retiring. She attended Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. A dedicated mother and friend, her family was her inspiration in life. She cherished the moments she could share with them. Bea's funeral will be held Friday, June 25th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to visit with the family, Friday, June 25th from 8:30 to 10:30 am in the funeral home.
