Warren B. Kalagher, 89, of Worcester, passed away Saturday, June 19th 2010 in the Beaumont at University Commons. Warren was born February 13, 1921, in Worcester a son of Francis and Elvira (Hoglund) Kalagher. He graduated from Commerce High School, joined the U.S. Coast Guard to serve his country during World War II, in the Pacific Theatre and has lived in Worcester all his life. Warren's first wife Josephine (Perna) Kalagher passed away November 24th of 1985. His second wife, Margaret (Blunt) Kalagher passed away in 2004. He leaves his devoted family Robert F. Kalagher and his wife Sharon, Elaine M. Vincequere and her husband Steven all of Worcester; a son in law, Thomas Turco, Jr. of Shrewsbury; nine grandchildren: Thomas Turco, III and his wife Maura; Cheryl Demers and her husband Jeffery, Lisa Saucier and her husband Peter, Jeffery Vincequere and his wife Kristine, Denise Anderson and her husband Timothy, Lori Pepper and her husband James, Colleen Kalagher, Sarah Fontaine and her husband Matthew and Amy Kalagher; 13 great grandchildren; an Aunt, Madeline Kalagher, four sisters in law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A daughter Diane Turco passed away in 2007 and a brother, Raymond F. "Ray" Kalagher passed away in 2005. Warren worked more than 40 years for Nabisco Company in West Boylston, as a route driver and retiring as shipping and receiving manager. He also worked over 25 years for both Spag's Supply in Shrewsbury and helped build, establish and worked as a funeral assistant for the Mercadante Funeral Home. Warren was a founding member of the former St Margaret Mary Church. A member of the Vernon Hill Post American Legion, and a member and past President of the Froshinn Club in Shrewsbury. Warren was an avid bowler and co founded and established the Catholic Men's bowling league. Warren funeral will be held Wednesday June 23rd from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in St. Anne Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Burial will be in Mt View Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family, Wednesday June 23nd from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
