Frederick R. Snape, 75, of North Oxford, formerly of Worcester and Shrewsbury, passed away Monday, June 14th 2010, in the University of Massachusetts Hospital after a brief illness. Frederick was born in Northampton, MA, the son of Frederick W. and Jane (Tylczak) Snape. Frederick is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Gloria (Mero) Snape; his cherished children and grandchildren, Robert F. Snape, his wife Anahid RM and their children, Robert Miller, Gioia Di, Gabrielle, and Rosa Mia Snape of Webster; Kathy A. Snape, and her children, Michael and Ashley Pelletier of Lewiston, ME; Paul R. Snape, his wife Kelle and their children, Adam, Lcpl Zachary Snape USMC and Nicholas Snape of North Oxford; Jane M. Frongillo, her husband Thomas and their children, Bruno, Thomas Jr. and Rocco of North Oxford; two brothers, Lawrence Snape of Hatfield, MA and James Snape of Richmond, NH; a sister, Betty Atwell of Alton Bay, NH; many nieces, nephews and friends . He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Louis and Edward Snape, and two sisters, Jeanette Kocinski and Carol Ewing. Prior to his retirement, Frederick was employed by Shaw's Supermarkets as a truck driver for many years. Following his retirement, Frederick drove a truck for his son-in-law, Thomas, at F & D Truck Co. Frederick was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and picking mushrooms. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren playing board games, Bingo and cards. His family was his life's enjoyment. He will be dearly missed by them. The funeral will be held Monday, June 21st from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:00 am in the Church of St. Anne, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday, June 20th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the funeral home.
