Robert "Bob" Carabba, 62, a longtime resident of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Gardner, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. He was born December 17, 1947 in Gardner, MA son of the late Rita (LaBonte) LaRoche and Alberto Giovanni Carabba. During Vietnam, Bob served our country in the US Marine Corps. During his service time Bob earned decorations and awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1971, having attained the rank of Sergeant. He was employed as a customer service representative at Lowes Home Improvement in North Raleigh. Bob is survived by his son, Anthony "Tony" Carabba of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Audrey Carabba of Gardner; three brothers, John Carabba of Portland,Oregon, Bruce Garvick of Gardner and Brian LaRoche of Gardner; his step-father who raised him as his own, Ronnie LaRoche of Gardner; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his former step-father, Henry Garvick In accordance with Bob's wishes, he was cremated and a graveside service honoring his life will be held Saturday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner in section H.
